The service is completely free and does not require login to view basic data. To inquire about detailed data linked to your own register, you must access via the National Single Sign-On.
Indications of Electronic Commercial Register Data and Activity Type
Reading the electronic commercial register goes beyond confirming its existence. Here are the fields you must check and what they mean practically:
- Commercial Register Number: The official identifier for the establishment. With the unified commercial register system, this is now a single national number for the establishment instead of separate registers for each city.
- Trade Name and Entity Type: Is it a sole proprietorship, a limited liability company, or a joint stock company? This determines the liability limits of the party you are contracting with.
- Registered Activity or Activities: The most important field in contracting. Ensure the listed activity explicitly covers the service or supply subject to the contract.

Establishments owned by Saudis or GCC citizens do not need an investment license and start directly by issuing the commercial register.

The Commercial Register System requires anyone practicing commercial activity to be registered and for their data to be accurate and updated. The new Commercial Register System came into effect on April 3, 2025, abolishing the distinction between main and branch registers in favor of a unified national register, and arranged an obligation to confirm register data periodically instead of renewing for a fixed term.
